You should be fine - it is possible to change the kernel from the one they provide by default without TOO much difficulty.

No VAT! I do have to pay a card conversion fee, but it still comes out to less than $21 a month for me.

Cool! Do you have to pay VAT if you're US-based, or is it not added? You're pretty lucky to have a dual core! Thanks for the comment.

I just signed up for a Kimsufi 2G last week through the OVH.IE site. Pretty sweet little server. I lucked out and ended up with an Athlon X2 processor running at 1900. I'm using it primarily for video streaming my home videos. In general, it keeps up pretty well considering the server is in France and I'm in the US. Thanks for the posting, I was looking for someone to give feedback that had been using their server for awhile. Their prices seemed too good to be true.

Hi Yimmii. Over the last few months, I've grown accustomed to the speeds of an SSD, so using a machine with a mechanical drive seems pretty slow. However, I have at times considered switching back to a mechanical drive (or upgrading my SSD). 120GB is probably OK for your average user, but I've got quite a lot of development software etc on the disk which takes up a fair amount of space - I've got about 36GB remaining right now. I think that a Force 3 240GB will suite you fine - I'm quite jealous!

Disabling the sleepimage was worth it for me, yes, as it is only used when the machine runs out of battery. Under normal conditions, the RAM is still powered so a sleepimage is not necessary.

Hey
Nice post about the Force 3.

Did you get any long-time experience during the past months?
I try to get an Force 3 240GB and hope it will work...

And the sleepimage disabling was really worth it?

Regards
